The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and the tongue tie on SPLENDID GARDEN having to be refitted. DOING IT FOR DAN was stubborn loading. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. TALKTOTHESTARS lost 1 length. In view of the Starter's report with regard to DOING IT FOR DAN, this gelding was suspended for a period of 30 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the starting stalls. DOING IT FOR DAN may not be presented for repassing during this period. Jockey Maujean, the rider of TALKTOTHESTARS, and Jockey Marwing, the rider of DOLLAR DAZZLER, reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Delpech reported that AFRICAN RULER did not stride out freely in running and did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with WILL PAYS in running and he did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. CHAMPAGNE HAZE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Khumalo replaced Jockey Danielson on BULL VALLEY. After the scratching of TRIP TO HEAVEN, the Stipendiary Board gave permission for this jockey change. Consideration was given to the fact that it was a Grade 2 race, Jockey Khumalo is the established stable rider for Trainer Tarry and that the jockey change was made two days prior to the running of race. Vet: TALKTOTHESTARS - examined post race, no significant findings. AFRICAN RULER - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. DOLLAR DAZZLER - not striding out left front. WILL PAYS - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: TRIP TO HEAVEN and GRADUATION DAY - abnormal temperature.
