The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. MENDOZA'S MAGIC was stubborn loading. Trainer Marwing was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. MAGIC SWORD was restless in the stalls. Jockey Khumalo reported that DOMENICO ANGELO changed strides continually in running. When questioned regarding his ride on HOUSTON ROCKET, Jockey Strydom advised that this gelding had raced green and at approximately the 300m had been intimidated by other horses when attempting to take a gap and had hesitated in passing RIPARIAN. Furthermore, Jockey Strydom was shown the patrol film of the concluding stages of the race and, even though the Board was satisfied that he had secured third position, he was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. GLIDER PILOT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DOMENICO ANGELO - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: SO SWIFT - coughing. SHOE SHINE - cut on left hind leg. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, except for TIMEOFTHEVIKINGS, which was identified by means of its microchip number.
