SINGASWEWIN pulled its right front shoe and GIMMEABREAK pulled its left front shoe en-route to the start. Both horses were attended to by the Course Farrier, which caused a delay to the start of this Race. SINGASWEWIN was stubborn loading. GOLDEN BABE was slow into stride. In view of the performance of SEVENTH OF JUNE (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. When questioned regarding his ride on THE GREAT DUCHESS, Jockey Munger explained to the Board that she is very stubborn and a difficult filly to ride. His instructions were to find cover and to ride this filly as confidently as he could for as long as he could, because whenever she sees daylight or is put under pressure, she tends to shirk the issue. These instructions were confirmed by Trainer Maroun. In the concluding stages SEVENTH OF JUNE (AUS) had to ease momentarily when awkwardly placed on the outside of TRIPLE CLOVER, which shifted both ways away from the crop. AIMEE SWEET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of AIMEE SWEET, Trainer Maroun explained to the board that this filly had hung in badly in her run on the 7th of March 2017 and on return to stables, it was discovered that she had injured her hock which was reported to the NHA Veterinary Department. This injury has subsequently been treated and in his opinion this was the reason for the filly's improved performance. Vet: SEVENTH OF JUNE (AUS) - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
