The start of the 4th Race was delayed as a result of the farrier having to replace the left front shoe to ST PETER'S BAY at the start. ICE EMPEROR and WOLF KILLER were slow into stride. FLOWER BLUE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FULL COUNT shifted out slightly near the 500-metre mark making contact with DARTING ARROW. LEAGUE OF SHADOWS was hanging in, in the straight. FLOWER BLUE was hanging in and shifted in near the 50-metre mark resulting in ST PETER'S BAY having to be eased. Jockey Kennedy reported DARTING ARROW took no interest in running. In view of the performance of FINAL CUP, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: DARTING ARROW and FINAL CUP - nothing obvious detected.
