The start of this Race was delayed due to the twenty-five minute interval between races. STICKS and FREE SPIRIT were slow into stride. SCHOLAR PATROL was slow into stride. SCHOLAR PATROL, ABNAKI and FREE SPIRIT commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. Jockey Munger reported that he felt something amiss with GOOD TEAM in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. BEACHMASTER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of BEACHMASTER, the only explanation Trainer Lensley could offer was that this was an extremely weak field, and this was the reason that the horse improved. SCHOLAR PATROL raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: GOOD TEAM - epistaxis, 60 days suspension.
