Jockey Lerena did not ride at today's meeting due to being medically indisposed. Apprentice Mbhele did not ride at today's meeting due to being medically indisposed. Jockey van Niekerk did not ride at today's meeting due to his feature race runner in Race 6 being scratched, as this was the reason for riding in KZN today. The start of this Race was delayed due to the Veterinary Surgeon having to examine MAPMAKER at the start. CAT'S LEGACY and DAPPLING BAY were slow into stride. GILTS and ROY'S PIANO lost one length. MAGIC SAILOR was difficult to load. Assistant Trainer Alsop acting for Trainer Marshall was advised to re-school this colt. MAPMAKER was difficult to load and restless in the stalls, removed from the stalls, and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Thereafter was difficult to reload. CAT'S LEGACY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CAT'S LEGACY raced green on the bend. ROY'S PIANO and GIRL IN GOLD raced green. DAPPLING BAY, racing green, raced awkwardly with his head up in the early stages and lost ground to the field. TOLTEC, racing green, shifted in slightly near the 1100 metre mark, resulting in GIRL IN GOLD and ROY'S PIANO being momentarily cramped. GILTS shifted out near the 250 metre mark inconveniencing MAPMAKER. Jockey Delpech reported REVEREND took no interest in running. In view of the performance of MAGIC SAILOR, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. In view of the Starter's report concerning MAPMAKER, this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. The Colours of the Owners of RESPECTABLE ROCK should read: white, red stars, blue sleeves, white stars, white cap (change of colours - 05 April 2017). Vet: REVEREND and MAGIC SAILOR - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: THE BYZANTINE - coughing.
