PENNINGTON SANDS broke its left front shoe en-route to the start, which was attended to by the course farrier. This caused a delay to the start of this Race. PENNINGTON SANDS lost one length. Jockey Wrogemann reported that SHANKLY GATES did not act in the going. Leaving the 200m, when racing in close quarters, Jockey Zackey, the rider of PENNINGTON SANDS, accidentally struck the crop out of Jockey Yeni's (AMERICAN STORY) hand. Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of MONARCH AIR, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. PENNINGTON SANDS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: JUBA - abnormal respiratory noise and in season. Scratched: INANINSTANT - swollen right hind.
