Steady rain fell during the running of this Race. The start of this Race was delayed due to THE SLADE rearing over in the starting stalls. Time was taken to allow the betting public to restructure their bets. SPANISH CAPTAIN and BREAKFAST CLUB were slow into stride. HO'OPONOPONO lost one length. THE SLADE reared in the stalls. BREAKFAST CLUB was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. OVER SURE was hanging in, in the straight. TUSCAN was hanging in, in the closing stages. Jockey Marcus, the rider of CUTTING EDGE, accidentally nearly dropped his crop in the closing stages, resulting in him hesitating with his ride. In view of the performance of ROY'S STRIKE FORCE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. In view of the Starter's report concerning THE SLADE, this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion on a race day. Vet: ROY'S STRIKE FORCE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: THE SLADE - reared in the starting stalls and was injured and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
