DE NIMES lost one length. SIMLA was squeezed out shortly after the start losing one length. CLASS ACT was restless in the stalls. CASA DE VAR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Lerena, the rider of DREAM BAY, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. SIMLA and POUND STERLING made contact shortly after the start, resulting in SIMLA becoming cramped and POUND STERLING becoming unbalanced. DE NIMES was switched out, in an attempt to obtain a clear run near the 350-metre mark and thereafter was switched in to obtain a clear run near the 300-metre mark. BYE BYE BABY was hanging in over the final 400 metres. CLASS ACT raced wide throughout. MUNGO CHERRY over-raced in the early stages. In view of the performance of CLASS ACT, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. DREAM BAY raced unshod. Vet: CLASS ACT - coughing. DREAM BAY - cut into left hind. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
