Apprentice Habib, the rider of COSMIC COUNT, and Jockey Chambers, the rider of UPOSEUPAY, reported that their mounts changed stride continually in running. Shortly before the finish line, GOODYTWOSHOES had to steady, when carried out by HEAVEN'S DOOR, which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident. This was followed by Apprentice Hewitson, the rider of the 4th placed horse, GOODTWOSHOES, lodging an objection against the 3rd placed horse, HEAVEN'S DOOR, on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the concluding stages. The Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the various parties, could not be satisfied that, but for the interference, GOODTWOSHOES would have finished in front of HEAVEN'S DOOR, overruled the objection and allowed the judges result to stand. Apprentice Hewitson's deposit was refunded. Jockey Fortune, the rider of HEAVEN'S DOOR, appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in races. RAND CLUB was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: COSMIC COUNT - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. UPOSEUPAY - not striding out right front.
