Apprentice Arries now claims a 2.5kg apprentice allowance. The start of this Race was delayed due to a false start being called as a result of the gates opening prematurely due to a loose connection. The runners that were loaded were pulled up within a 100 metres, returned to the start and reloaded. The gates opened prematurely again due to the Handler, who jumped up to assist Jockey Jacobson, the rider of NATIONAL CRUSADE, who was drawn one, and had accidentally knocked the fuse connected on the battery. The start was thereafter effected manually. ALLY WHOOPEE was difficult to load and was restless in the stalls. INNOCENTLY NAUGHTY reared in the stalls and was removed. CHRISTENDOM was restless in the stalls. KATEECADOR, STYLISH ROCKET and THE VINTAGE lost two lengths. VANITY FAIR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. KATEECADOR raced green and was hanging in, in the latter stages. SHINDEAGEN and STYLISH ROCKET raced green. SHINDEAGEN shifted out, simultaneously CITY OF STARS shifted in, resulting in CHRISTENDOM and THE VINTAGE became cramped for galloping room and SHINDEAGEN became unbalanced at approximately the 400 metre mark. WINTER MODEL took no interest in running. In view of the Starter's report concerning INNOCENTLY NAUGHTY, this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. In view of the Starter's report concerning ALLY WHOOPEE, this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. Vet: WINTER MODEL - not striding out right fore. Scratched: TWICE AS SMART - pulled left hind muscle. INNOCENTLY NAUGHTY - injured in the stalls and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
