THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPERIAL BALLET (J Bekker) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with INBETWEEN DREAMS (*J Solomons). b) PRINCESS OF WINTER (M Byleveld) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m, CAPITANA (G Cheyne) was forced to steady and lost momentum when tightened for galloping room on the inside of SEA LION (C Zackey) which had been directed inwards to secure a run on the inside of FORBIDDEN KISS (A Domeyer), which was hanging in. Jockey Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised to be more aware of other runners before shifting ground in future. b) Jockey A Andrews, the rider of CHARITY BALL, reported that this filly was making an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey M Byleveld, the rider of PRINCESS OF WINTER, reported that he felt something amiss with this filly. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) CAPITANA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
