THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SALVATOR MUNDI (R Fourie) and BEL PUNTO (O Noach) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BLACK DUKE (M Byleveld) and HEARTBREAK HOTEL (*J Solomons) pulled hard in the early stages. b) Approaching the 300m, WOLFE GUARD (G Behr) was forced to check when crossed by HEARTBREAK HOTEL (*J Solomons) which was directed outwards to continue its run. Apprentice J Solomons was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.5 in that, when riding the horse HEARTBREAK HOTEL, he failed to take all reasonable precautions to prevent his mount from crossing WOLFE GUARD approaching the 300m. Apprentice Solomons signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 20/09/2020 to 26/09/2020 inclusive) c) Jockey G van Niekerk, the rider of BETTER DAYS, reported that this colt was hanging out on the bend and did not stride out freely in the straight and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) NORTHERN SONG, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
