RUSHING CAT proved stubborn to load which caused a delay to the start of this Race. NORDIC REBEL reared in the stalls. RUSHING CAT was stubborn loading. Trainer Nieuwenhuizen was advised to re-school this colt prior to its next engagement. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE shifted out away from the crop from the 400m. At approximately the 400m, BIKINI GIRL (AUS) rolled out slightly. Simultaneously SOLDAT, which had shown a tendency to hang inwards, shifted in sharply, which led to BIKINI GIRL (AUS) and SOLDAT coming together and becoming unbalanced. As a consequence of this, TIRZAN was carried in by BIKINI GIRL (AUS). After reviewing the patrol films, the Stipendiary Board was satisfied that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider and that this was a racing incident. In the concluding stages, STARPATH was bumped on at least two occasions by COLLABRO, which was hanging out badly from the 300m. Jockey Maujean, the rider of COLLABRO, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to make more of an effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. Jockey Simons, the rider of BLUE LABEL, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of using his crop on a horse when out of contention for a place. STARPATH and PILOU were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SINGASWEWIN - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: LUPO - lame right hind.
