The start of this Race was delayed at the request of the Operator. THE CENTENARY (NZ) was slow into stride. TROPHY WIFE was slow losing one length. Jockey Marcus reported that he felt something amiss with FORT EMBER in running. Trainer Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. Jockey Marwing reported that he felt something amiss with NEGROAMARO in running and did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Leaving the 400m, TROPHY WIFE had to switch out to continue its run. Thereafter TROPHY WIFE and POLYPHONIC came together and bumped on two occasions. ANNA PAVLOVA was hanging in from the 300m. Jockey Delpech reported that STAR EXPRESS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. NOTHER RUSSIA, BELLA SONATA and TAHINI were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Yeni was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck THE CENTENARY (NZ) unnecessarily when it was out of contention for a place. Jockey Yeni signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. An Inquiry will be opened to establish why BELLA SONATA left the parade ring out of its numerical sequence. FORT EMBER and TROPHY WIFE raced equipped with ear muffs. Due to a change, the Colours of the Owners of ANNA PAVLOVA are: Green, yellow stripe, one red and one blue sleeve, white armbands, black cap (Ownership unchanged). Vet: FORT EMBER - examined post race, no significant findings. STAR EXPRESS - no respiratory noise detected post race. NEGROAMARO - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
