THE STARTER REPORTED: a) YOUCANTHURRYLOVE (P Strydom) was slow into stride. b) REBEL'S CHAMP (C Murray) and FIRED UP (M Yeni) were stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice L J Ferraris reported that he felt something amiss with IKIGAI in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. b) ZOUAVES (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G J Maroun, acting on behalf of Trainer G V Woodruff, advised (AH). Trainer G V Woodruff to be questioned regarding this gelding's disappointing run on the 20th August 2020. c) REBEL'S CHAMP (C Murray) over raced in the early and middle stages. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) REBEL'S CHAMP was ridden by Jockey C Murray. Jockey W Kennedy was permitted to leave the racecourse after the running of Race 6 in order to secure his return flight to Durban. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) IKIGAI examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) ANGEL'S POWER choked up; abnormal respiratory noise and fatigued.
