The start of this race was rescheduled at the request of the Operator. ALLORA AND PONCHIELLI proved difficult to load. During the loading process QUEEN'S JET kicked the back gates, resulting in ALWAYS A LADY rearing. ALLORA, PONCHIELLI and ALWAYS A LADY were taken out the stalls and inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon. PONCHIELLI and ALWAYS A LADY were declared fit to race and reloaded, and ALLORA was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. These incidents caused a delay to the start of this Race. Trainer Janse van Vuuren was advised to re-school ALLORA prior to its next engagement. ALWAYS A LADY and PONCHIELLI were restless in the stalls, subsequently taken out, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. Assistant Trainer van Zyl and Trainer Botes were advised to re-school their respective horses prior to their next engagement. HIGH SEAS BEAUTY (AUS) was slow into stride. In view of the performance from PONCHIELLI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. EMBRASIATIC (ARG) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PONCHIELLI - in season. BURUNDI BUSH - speedy cut right hind. Scratched: ALLORA - injured in stalls. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
