TOA NUI and DOM SEGUIDOR were both slow into stride. SEATTLE SPELL and WINTER WOLF both lost 1 length. CYBELE FOREST lost 2 lengths. GOLDINGS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TOA NUI over-raced in the early and middle stages and raced wide on the first bend and in the back straight. THINK TANK was hanging in in the final straight. Apprentice Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with CYBELE FOREST in the final straight and as a result he did not persevere with his ride over the final 200 metres. Approaching the 200 metre mark, GOLDINGS ducked in sharply away from the crop carrying SPUN OUT (AUS) inwards, resulting in DOM SEGUIDOR being eased and taken inwards. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by a double Objection, lodged by Jockey Delpech, rider of the second placed horse, SPUN OUT (AUS), and Jockey Forbes, rider of the third placed horse, DOM SEGUIDOR, against was GOLDINGS on the grounds interference at approximately the 250 metre mark. The Board after hearing all the evidence, viewing the patrol videos and considering the winning distance was of the opinion that despite the incident complained of, SPUN OUT (AUS) and DOM SEGUIDOR would not have beaten GOLDINGS and therefore over-ruled the Objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. The deposits were refunded. Apprentice Lerena, the rider of TOA NUI, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. SEATTLE SPELL raced fitted with cheek-pieces. WINTER WOLF raced with his tongue tied down. WINTER WOLF raced fitted with alumites both fore and steels behind. DRAGONWOOD and THINK TANK raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind. Vet: CYBELE FOREST - not striding out right fore.
