The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race delay and RIVER DOON (W Kennedy) proving reluctant to proceed to the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PERPETUAL MOTION (E Ngwane), RIVER DOON (W Kennedy), HEREINAFTER (D Dillon) and TOSTADA (G Wright) were stubborn to load. b) SUPPER AT SIX (M Khan) was stubborn to load and lost 3 lengths. c) CHIMURENGA GIRL (M Yeni) lost 3 lengths. d) EMERALD ISLA (S Moodley) was squeezed out at the start. e) KAAPSE MEISIE (*O Rusike) jumped out at the start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RIVER DOON (W Kennedy) proved reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer Gavin van Zyl was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended. b) In the concluding stages, PALMHEART (*T Gumede) was brushed in by RIVER DOON (W Kennedy) which was hanging in from the 300m. c) TOSTADA (G Wright) was hanging in from the 400m. d) MY LADY (A Marcus) shifted in to continue its run at the 200m. e) The girth sponge of CHIMURENGA GIRL (M Yeni) came loose at approximately the 900m. f) At the 400m, ZIVA NOIR (*K Brewer) was carried in by FLYING THE STAR (D Schwarz) which was hanging in from the 450m. g) Apprentice K Brewer (ZIVA NOIR) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. h) Jockey E Ngwane reported that PERPETUAL MOTION (21.60 lengths) made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. i) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with SALIANA (18.80 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. j) MY LADY (A Marcus), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Trott acting on behalf of Trainer A Fortune advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ZIVA NOIR raced equipped with blinkers, raced without cheek pieces and without a tongue tie (advised 16.09.20/19h46). b) TOSTADA raced with a tongue tie (advised 18.09.20/8h21). c) MY LADY raced equipped with blinkers and raced without ear muffs (advised 18.09.20/10h01). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PERPETUAL MOTION : Abnormal respiratory noise. b) SALIANA : Nothing obvious detected. THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED : a) Jockey D Dillon was examined:- dehydration. Unable to continue riding. Dr Pillay. Rule 25.12 applies. SCRATCHINGS : a) HATTA : Cast in box (Trainer - 17.09.20/8h35).
