THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OCEANS PRIDE (+K Fisher), PARTY SONG (+A Sumbe), SKY ALLEY (+T Ncume) and SUNTRAX (+T Matsoele) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m, EXULTANT (+G Dadamasi) and PEACE DIAMOND (+J Gwingwizha) had to ease when tightened for galloping room on the inside of NU BELL (+P Mongqawa) which shifted in. Work Rider P Mongqawa signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that, as the rider of NU BELL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to EXULTANT (+G Dadamasi) and PEACE DIAMOND (+J Gwingwizha) when he shifted in at the 1400m. The Board imposed a suspension from riding in one Work Rider race. Date of Suspension: 8th October 2020. b) At approximately the 1450m, PARTY SONG (+A Sumbe) took an awkward stride. c) Work Rider T Ncume signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline G on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse SKY ALLEY when out of contention for a place. The Board imposed a suspension from riding in one Work Rider race. Date of Suspension: 8th October 2020. d) NU BELL (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (DR). WORKRIDER CHANGES: a) LIL GREEN GRETNA was ridden by Workrider M Duba (declared 22 September 2020 at 08H46). b) EVOKE was ridden by Workrider P Mlangeni (declared 22 September 2020 at 10H56). Workrider T Baase was unable to make the carded weight (60kg) as declared. Permission was granted in terms of Rule 59.9 for this change due to Covid protocols precluding the use of the sweatbox. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) NOPANTSFORME raced without blinkers (declared 21 September 2020 at 13H08). b) HIGHGROVE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind and without blinkers (declared 22 September 2020 at 07H17). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) NOPANTSFORME coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
