The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race delays. THE CENTENARY (NZ) and SILVER STRIPE were slow into stride. PERSIAN RUG lost two lengths. SKIP A BEAT lost one length. EPONA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ONESIE was cramped and steadied shortly after the start. ONESIE was continually baulked for a clear run between the 300 and 200 metre marks. Jockey Kennedy, the rider of ONESIE, accidentally dropped his crop near the 50 metre mark. Jockey Maujean, the rider of SILVER STRIPE, had his crop accidentally struck from his hand by Jockey Fourie, the rider of PARTY CRASHER near the 100 metre mark. Jockey Mgudlwa reported INANINSTANT not striding out freely in the closing stages. Jockey Khumalo reported TAMBALANG took no interest in running. NIMA returned post race having cast the left hind shoe. Vet: INANINSTANT - not striding out. TAMBALANG - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: QING and ADORADA - change of surface. SILVER WILLOW and INTO THE GROOVE - eliminated. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
