SHORTLY BEFORE THE START WAS EFFECTED, WYLIE THE GREAT, IN STALL GATE NINE, BECAME RESTLESS, BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES DISLODGING APPRENTICE J R SYSTER AND BOLTED THE COURSE. WYLIE THE GREAT WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS LED TO THE DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WYLIE THE GREAT (*J R Syster) broke through the front gate, dislodging Apprentice J R Syster and bolted. The starting stall certificate for this colt has been withdrawn. Trainer H van der Westhuizen advised. (PHvdW).
b) IN ABUNDANCE (G Lerena) was stubborn loading.
c) QUARARI'S VALENTYN (R Danielson) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
d) PLAYBOY PRINCE (C Maujean) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
e) WATCH YOUR MOUTH (S Brown) was slow losing two lengths.
f) BINGWA (C Murray) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Apprentice L J Ferraris reported that he felt something amiss with HAGRID in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
b) BINGWA (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Machaelie, acting on behalf of Trainer D Sham, advised (AH).
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to WYLIE THE GREAT, this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 23.09.2020 to the 29.09.2020. WYLIE THE GREAT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer H van der Westhuizen advised.
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) WATCH YOUR MOUTH: Jockey S Brown weighed out at 57,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) FREEZING FAST raced with a tongue tie on (declared 21 September 2020 at 13H05).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) WYLIE THE GREAT bolted the course. Immediate reinstatement.
b) HAGRID not striding out right front.
