Stall gate number 9, PIECE OF PIZZAZ, opened marginally slower than the rest of the starting stall gates causing the filly to lose half a length. Apprentice Habib reported something amiss with DICTATE and he did not persevere with his mount from the 200 metre mark. Jockey Sibanda reported PIECE OF PIZZAZ was not striding out and he did not persevere with his mount from the 200 metre mark. After viewing the Patrol Film, the Stipendiary Board felt that PIECE OF PIZZAZ, was not affected by its starting stalls gate opening marginally slower than the rest, and therefore took no further action. BETULA UBER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DICTATE - found mildly lame right front, post race. PIECE OF PIZZAZ - examined post race, no abnormalities seen.
