In view of the performance from PACK A PUNCH, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Approaching the 1200m, COME ON SONNY was forced to ease off the heels of ROCKETEER, and PACK A PUNCH was cramped for galloping room, when ROCKETEER shifted inwards. Apprentice Bantam, the rider of ROCKETEER, was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners when he shifted inwards at the 1200m. Apprentice Bantam signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. DESIGNER POT and PACK A PUNCH were cramped for galloping room and forced to ease for a number of strides approaching the 100m when WESTERN STORM shifted out. The Board have adjourned to review the patrol films of this incident. ROCKETEER shifted out sharply away from the crop for a number of strides approaching the 200m. COME ON SONNY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The Ownership of WESTERN STORM to read: Messrs F M Carruthers, A C Johnson, G R Puller & Ian Robinson; and the Colours are: Dark blue and silver checks, silver sleeves, dark blue seams, silver cap, and dark blue peak. Vet: PACK A PUNCH - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: GREENFLASHSUNSET - insufficient recovery time. ASTRAPI - not eating up. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
