The start of the 2nd Race was delayed due to the delay in Race 1 as well as the 30 minute gap between races. It was further delayed as a result of GO WITH FLO being reluctant to proceed to the start. GORGEOUS GUEST and STORM KITTEN were slow into stride. STORM KITTEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Roberts to be advised that should GO WITH FLO again prove difficult to proceed to the start, she may be suspended. SPACE NEEDLE hanging out throughout. Jockey Strydom reported SPACE NEEDLE took no interest in running. Entering the final straight, AZNERAK shifted out slightly, Simultaneously SPACE NEEDLE shifted in from the crop, resulting in TROPICAL WONDER becoming cramped and having to be eased. Approaching the 200 metre mark, GO WITH FLO, hanging in, shifted in carrying DEVON BELLE inwards and in turn made contact with DEVON BELLE on several occasions. In view of the performances of TROPICAL WONDER and MIESQUE'S MAGIC, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. DEVON BELLE raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind. Vet: SPACE NEEDLE - in season. TROPICAL WONDER - not striding out right fore. MIESQUE'S MAGIC - not striding out left fore. Scratched: POUND STERLING - insufficient recovery time - raced.
