THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GANG LEADER (W Kennedy) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PILLAROFTHEEARTH (R Simons), ICE EATER (*C F Dicken) and PERSICA (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of PALACE ASSEMBLY (*J Gates) (distance 7,25 lengths, betting 15/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine gelding. b) Apprentice C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with ICE EATER in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine gelding. c) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with KINGS ROAD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine gelding. d) In the concluding stages, VAR AGLOW (G Lerena) which rolled out and PHINDA MZALA (*J R Syster) which shifted in away from the crop, came together and bumped. e) PHINDA MZALA (*J R Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
