AZUSA was slow away and lost 1 length. AZUSA was pulling in hard in the early and middle stages. Between the 400 and the 200 metre marks, BANJO BUZZ shifted inwards thereafter passing the 200 metre mark, shifted outwards away from the crop. Over the final 100 metres BANJO BUZZ and QUEEN FOREVER shifted outwards independently. A race review was called by the Trainer of the 2nd placed horse, BANJO BUZZ, into the closing stages of the race which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey Zechner against QUEEN FOREVER on the grounds of intimidation in the latter stages. The Board, having heard the evidence from the party concerned and reviewing the patrol films of the race, over-ruled the Objection and declared Jockey Zechner's deposit forfeited. Jockey Cheyne reported that NICOLE was not striding out freely in the running. QUEEN FOREVER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Greeff was questioned regarding the improved performance of QUEEN FOREVER compared to her previous race on the 13/05/2017. The Trainer could not offer a suitable explanation and the Board adjourned to review this filly's previous run. Vet: CLOSE TO MY HEART - speedy cut right hind. NICOLE - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: PERFECT DAWN - colic.
