THE STARTER REPORTED A) IMPPRESS ME MUCH was slow away and lost 1 length. B) CERELIA was nervous in the stalls. C) YVONNE'S PRINCESS was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that SILVER SENORITA did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SILVER SENORITA, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended indefinitely from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer J H Strydom was advised. B) An inquiry will be opened to establish why SILVER SENORITA had been presented to race when the hooves of this filly had not been maintained at the required standard. C) At approximately the 300m, LATIFAH'S QUEEN (L Mxothwa) had to steady momentarily off the heels of CERELIA (G Cheyne) which hung in from the 300m. D) At approximately the 200m, CANA (*N Klink) had to be switched out to continue his run. E) The winner CERELIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). F) The second placed horse SUNSHINE BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer D A McKenzie advised (LM).
