TOA NUI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 1800 metre mark, AIR SALUTE and ROY HAD ENOUGH (AUS), who were over-racing, became cramped for galloping room on the inside of BERETTA BOBCAT. This resulted in ROY HAD ENOUGH (AUS) having to be eased and switched out making contact with TOA NUI. Thereafter ROY HAD ENOUGH (AUS) over-raced in the middle stages. At approximately the 1600 metre mark, CHENNAI lost his stride racing to the first bend. At approximately the 1500 metre mark, CHILLI AFFAIR raced onto and clipped the heels of SHERMAN, stumbled badly nearly unseating Jockey Mgudlwa. This resulted in Jockey Mgudlwa's left foot slipping from the stirrup iron, which he regained at approximately the 1400 metre mark. AIR SALUTE was hanging out in the straight, shifted out between the 350 and 250 metre marks, carrying ROY HAD ENOUGH (AUS) outwards, who had to be switched in for a clear run at approximately the 250 metre mark. Jockey Forbes signed an Admission of Guilt for a Warning for a contravention in that, as the rider of AIR SALUTE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ROY HAD ENOUGH (AUS) in the straight. BERETTA BOBCAT and CHENNAI were not persevered with in the latter stages. Apprentice Arries, the rider of ROY IS SLOW, accidentally dropped his right side rein at approximately the 300 metre mark, which he regained thereafter. TOWER raced equipped with a tongue tie. CHENNAI raced with alumites in front, unshod behind. Vet: BERETTA BOBCAT - nothing obvious detected. CHENNAI - lame left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
