THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HOEDSPRUIT (R Fourie) was hanging in in the straight. b) JAILHOUSE ROCK (S Mbhele) and MYHOPESANDDREAMS (G van Niekerk) were continually held up for a clear run between the 150m and the finish. c) In view of the performance of RONALDO (K de Melo), which tired quickly from the 300m, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of IRISH TRACTOR (G Cheyne) (Betting 5/2 : Distance 9.85) which took no interest in the running, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. e) HOEDSPRUIT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
