It was brought to the attention of the Stewards at 9.00 am on 25th June 2017, that the sweat box was faulty. In view of this, the Stewards permitted the riders to weigh out in excess of 0.5kg over the carded weight. On leaving the 200 metre mark, NIGHT OF SPEED shifted out away from the crop, and had to be straightened. SUSHI MISTRESS began fairly and lost some ground to the field in the early stages when displaying greenness, and then finished the race strongly. When questioned Jockey Chambers, the rider of BUSINESS JET, told the Stewards that this gelding had shown some greenness in the closing stages, and that he decided to ride hands and heels in the concluding stages to prevent this gelding from shifting ground. The Stewards informed Mr Chambers that his explanation was noted but in future he should ride his mounts with sufficient vigour and determination so as to leave the Stewards with no room for query. ARIAL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ARIAL raced with alumites on. Vet: SCHWARZEKATZE - examined post race and nothing untoward found.
