BOBBY DAZZLER cast the right fore shoe on the way to the start, which the farrier replaced. POWER GRID jumped awkwardly losing one length as the gate was slow to open and thereafter was slow into stride. CAPTAIN COURTEOUS jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STONE THROWER, which was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. The start was reviewed regarding POWER GRID in stall gate 3 and after the reviewing the patrol films, the Board established that the gate had opened slowly, but declared the gelding to be a runner, as he had finished in 4th place. Jockey Bekker reported that THE STONE THROWER did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Dillon, the rider of MOUNT KEITH (ZIM), dropped his crop at about the 200m. At about the 150m, CABALLO BLANCO eased for a number of strides when tightened for galloping room between BOBBY DAZZLER, which rolled in, and JOINERS ARMS, which rolled out. BOBBY DAZZLER was hanging in, in the latter stages. BLACKMORE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey May rode CAPTAIN COURTEOUS. This change was made in due time with Stewards permission due to flight complications and with the mutual consent of all the connections. Vet: THE STONE THROWER - returned not striding out, coughing and blood in the mouth. CABALLO BLANCO - returned not striding out.
