CUBAN EMERALD jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. OLYMPIAN was slow into stride. VINCENTE was carried out between the 150m and 50m by LA FAVOURARI, which was hanging out, shifted out and had to be straightened. Assistant Trainer Miss Alsop, acting on behalf of Trainer Marshall, lodged an Objection on behalf of VINCENTE, ridden by Jockey Noach, against LA FAVOURARI being declared the winner, on the grounds of intimidation in the latter stages. The Board, after reviewing the patrol films and considering the evidence heard, was of the opinion that but for the interference VINCENTE would not have finished ahead of LA FAVOURARI and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges' result to stand. The deposit was refunded. Jockey Wright, the rider of LA FAVOURARI, appeared before the Board and was strongly advised by the Stewards that he is expected to take stronger measures to keep his mount on a straight course in future. LA FAVOURARI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
