THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) AN OLD SWEET SONG (M Yeni) and CONCHITA (*T Gumede) lost 1 length, respectively.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 1100m, HATHAWAY (D Schwarz) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of CHERRY TOMATOES (*K Strydom) which over-raced early and shifted in sharply.
b) Approaching the 1000m, WINTER WHISTLE (D De Gouveia) took an awkward stride when racing onto the heels of CAPTAIN ARIANO (T Godden).
c) UMZINDUZI (A Mgudlwa) was hanging out from the 300m, proving difficult to assist.
d) SOLLER (R Danielson) raced greenly in the running.
e) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why LUNDY ISLAND (*L Ferraris) had to ease and CHERRY TOMATOES (*K Strydom) was carried in at the 1000m.
f) Jockey D De Gouveia signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse WINTER WHISTLE more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey D De Gouveia, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey D De Gouveia struck the horse WINTER WHISTLE, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey D De Gouveia used his crop and his record in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed.
g) MACARA (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (SC).

a) CAPTAIN ARIANO was ridden by Jockey T Godden (advised 2709.20/9h12).
b) HATHAWAY was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (advised 27.09.20/7h12).
c) OLIVIA'S JOY raced equipped with blinkers (advised 23.09.20/12h22).
d) SOLLER raced with a compression mask.
