CONQUERING KING attempted to go under the front gate and the bridle came off, this colt was unloaded, the bridle refitted and cleared fit to race by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. Trainer Smith was advised to re-school CONQUERING KING in the starting stalls prior to racing again. KIFTSGATE was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls was slow away and lost 1 length. Trainer Greeff was advised to re-school KIFTSGATE in the starting stalls prior to racing again. VALENTINIK was stubborn loading. Trainer Bremner was advised to re-school VALENTINIK in the starting stalls prior to racing again. POCKET ROCKET was slow away and lost 1 length. BRAVO TANGO SIERRA was stubborn loading, unruly in the stalls. Trainer Smith was advised to re-school BRAVO TANGO SIERRA in the starting stalls prior to racing again. Apprentice Tarentaal reported that he felt something amiss with CONQUERING KING in the running and he did not persevere with his ride over the final 200 metres. VALENTINIK over-raced in the early stages and was forced to steady for a number of strides off the heels of DORMAN passing the 1000 metre mark. KIFTSGATE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CONQUERING KING - examined at the starting stalls and cleared fit to race, examined post race nothing obvious detected. KIFTSGATE - abnormal respiratory noise.
