REBEL'S BURST and JEOVANA jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. Shortly after the start, LAVENDER RIDGE was carried out slightly by WATERBABY and made contact with JURUPARI. When questioned regarding the improved performance of LAVENDER RIDGE, Assistant Trainer Marcus told the Stewards that in this filly's last run she had over-raced. For today's race he had fitted the filly with a different bit in order to get her to settle in the early stages, which in his opinion accounted for the improved performance. The Stewards noted Mr Marcus' explanation and advised him to race this filly similarly equipped in future engagements and that her future performances will be monitored. LAVENDER RIDGE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The Ownership of JEOVANA should read: Messrs B Marcus & Dean Naidoo; and the Colours are: Burgundy, white chevron, burgundy sleeves, white seams, hooped cap. Scratched: IT IS WHAT IT IS - not eating up. TIGER BRIGHT - transport breakdown. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
