In the concluding stages, STAVINSKY had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of HAPPY PILLS, which was initially carried in and thereafter brushed in and unbalanced by STONEHENGE, which shifted in significantly away from the crop from the 300m. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board and this was followed by objections being lodged by Apprentice Hewitson, the rider of the 2nd placed horse, HAPPY PILLS, against the winner on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages, as well as an objection being lodged by Trainer Erasmus on behalf of the 4th placed horse, STAVINSKY, against the winner on the grounds of taking up his running and interference in the concluding stages of the race. Objection: 4th placed STAVINSKY against 1st placed STONEHENGE: The Objection Board was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges result to stand. Trainer Erasmus's deposit was refunded. Objection: 2nd placed HAPPY PILLS against 1st placed STONEHENGE: The Objection Board was of the opinion that but for this incident, HAPPY PILLS would have finished in front of STONEHENGE and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result accordingly. The lodging of both objections were delayed due to technical difficulties experienced in the boardroom with regard to the feed from the OB van to the boardroom. STONEHENGE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: KITTY'S DESTINY - no coughing heard post race. URGENT FURY - abnormal respiratory noise and coughing. YER-MAAN - lame left front.
