THE STARTER REPORTED A) EASYBYFAR jumped outwards and turned, refusing to gallop. The starting stall certificate for this mare is withdrawn. B) STILL TAPPIN was slow into stride. C) BEYOND TEMTATION was hampered at the start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MARGOT'S MAGIC, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer G Paddock was advised. B) Jockeys S Fortune (MARGOT'S MAGIC) and T Gould (TAWNY JET) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) WALLIS SIMPSON (G Cheyne) overraced in the middle stages. D) As the start was effected BEYOND TEMTATION (C Maujean) was severely impeded when bumped out by EASYBYFAR (E Webber) which jumped outwards and thereafter, refused to gallop. Due to the severity of the interference BEYOND TEMTATION (C Maujean) lost many lengths and was not persevered with throughout the duration of the race. EASYBYFAR (E Webber) is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as this mare proves tractable to jump on terms with a companion on a race day. E) The winner MISTRESS OF MEANS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer S B Kotzen advised (PD). THERE WERE NO JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) QUAKESHAKE raced in club black colours, Stipes permission. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) TAWNY JET not striding out right fore. B) WALLIS SIMPSON speedy cut left hind. C) MARGOT'S MAGIC bilateral epistaxis, 60 days suspension. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
