THE STARTER REPORTED A) ARANJUEZ, BUSH FEVER, HUMOUR ME and OASIS QUEEN were slow into stride. B) ROYAL PURSUIT was slow away and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey D R Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with LUKES'S LEGACY in the running and eased this gelding out of the race at the 700m.The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning LUKE'S LEGACY, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer M L Turner will be advised. C) At approximately the 600m, KING CAPONE (E Webber) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of TOM 'N JERRY (M V Rensburg). D) Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse KING CAPONE more than 12 times in the entire race (sixteen (16) times). A penalty of a R1500 fine was imposed. E) The winner ARANJUEZ was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Stable Employee G Venter acting on behalf of Trainer T J Laing advised (PD). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) CAPTAIN'S VISTA Jockey D Bogaleboile replaced Jockey M Byleveld (10:50 - 28/09/2020). Jockey M Byleveld was unable to draw the correct carded weight as he was unable to use the sweatbox (Stipes permission / in terms of Covid - 19 protocols). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) LUKE'S LEGACY bilateral epistaxis, 60 days suspension. B) ROYAL PURSUIT not striding out THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
