SILICONE VALLEY and LINE BREAK jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. Jockey Marwing was charged with a contravention in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse PURPLE MOUNTAINS, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of rider. Jockey Marwing signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. TEVEZ and SILICONE VALLEY were momentarily tightened for galloping room when POWER GRID rolled in and was straightened at the 100m. A race review was called by Jockey Domeyer, the rider of TEVEZ, and Jockey Botha, the rider of SILICONE VALLEY. After reviewing the video evidence and having regard to the finishing distances, no further action was taken. Jockey Andrews appeared before the Board and was shown the video of his riding in the latter stages and warned to take more care. POWER GRID was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The Ownership of SILICONE VALLEY to read: Messrs C F Bester, F M Carruthers, P Fourie, G R Puller and Ian Robinson; and the Colours are: Unchanged. Jockey Noach rode PURPLE MOUNTAINS as Jockey Marwing was unable to make the carded weight.
