SKYDANCER was stubborn loading. TWICE A POET was nervous and slow into stride. WHEEL OF TIME refused to jump. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding was withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to WHEEL OF TIME, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until recertified tractable jumping on terms with a companion. WHEEL OF TIME may not be presented for repassing during this period. Jockey Ndlovu appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of OKAVANGO DELTA. In this regard, his attention was drawn to the non-vigorous nature of his ride in the concluding stages. Jockey Ndlovu explained to the Board that OKAVANGO DELTA had run his best races when held up for a run for as long as possible. He directed the Board to the form of this gelding, in particular, to when he won on him using similar tactics as raced with today when running second. The Board noted and accepted the evidence of Jockey Ndlovu which was corroborated by the patrol film of this gelding's previous runs and the form of this horse which had improved significantly following Jockey Ndlovu's change of tactics. Additionally, the Board took into consideration Jockey Ndlovu's exceptional record on this horse. Jockey Cheyne reported that FOOLS GARDEN took no interest in running. Trainer Greeff was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this mare on return to stables. Jockey Yeni reported that TWICE A POET did not stride out freely in running. VICTORY MARCH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FOOLS GARDEN and TWICE A POET - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
