The start was delayed due to RACEY J breaking through the front of the starting stall due to this gate opening for no reason, and having to be re loaded. Jockey Maujean, the rider of LADIES FIRST, reported this filly not striding out. The saddle on LADY CARINA slipped forward at approximately the 1200 meter mark making it difficult for Jockey Greyling to assist this filly. BETULA UBER was hanging in, in the concluding stages. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Penny, the rider of the 4th placed horse, SIMONA, against the winner WYLDE STYLE, on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. The Objection was over-ruled and the result remains as per the judges' decision. Jockey Penny was refunded his objection fee. At approximately the 200 metre mark, WYLDE STYLE was hanging inwards, which caused SIMONA to ease for several strides at approximately the 100 metre mark. Jockey Brown signed an Admission of Guilt for contravention, in that whilst riding WYLDE STYLE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference, bunching, intimidation and/or constitute a source of interference or danger. He was suspended for 7 days. WYLDE STYLE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LADIES FIRST - reported not striding out, checked post race, and slight lameness of right fore leg was found.
