LADY STARLETT and MAGIC were slow into stride. Jockey Zackey, the rider of DUKE NUKEM, and Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of MAGIC, reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in running. Trainer Erasmus was requested to report back on the condition of MAGIC on return to the stables. ROMAN EVENING switched in at approximately the 300m to continue its run. At approximately the 150m, FIDELIO was carried out by LE TIGRE, which was hanging out badly, proving difficult to assist. The Stipendiary Board called a race review into this incident and after viewing the patrol films of the race decided to take no further action. LE TIGRE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DUKE NUKEM and MANX PARK - abnormal respiratory noise BIG KING - coughing. MAGIC - examined post race, no significant findings.
