The start of the 9th Race was delayed due to HIGH ALTAR proving difficult proceeding to the start. ESPERANZA FIRE was slow into stride. REHOBOTH BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the behaviour of HIGH ALTAR en-route to the start, Trainer Howells has been advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future she may be suspended. REHOBOTH BEACH shifted in, in the closing stages carrying HIGH ALTAR inwards for a short distance shortly before the finish. Jockey Appie, the rider of REHOBOTH BEACH, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. In view of the performances of TALES OF MAMBO and ESPERANZA FIRE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. Vet: TALES OF MAMBO - nothing obvious detected. ESPERANZA FIRE - blowing post race. Scratched: LILY AND SPICE - elevated temperature. MISS TEE - not eating up. MAKE MY OWN LUCK (AUS) - under veterinary treatment. ACADEMY PRINCESS - retired to stud. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
