The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to attend to the left fore shoe on ELUSIVE CURRENT (W Kennedy) and HAMSA GROVE (S Veale) and the Veterinary Surgeon examining SPIFFY (S Randolph) and passing it fit to race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLAMING DESIRE (*T Gumede) was stubborn to load. b) TO THE MAX (K de Melo) lost 1 length. c) SPIFFY (S Randolph) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ARIANOS SPINNER (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 400m. b) At the 400m, AMBER FOREVER (L Hewitson) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between ARIANOS SPINNER (M Yeni) and PASSIVITY (*J Gates). c) At the 300m, HOT MONEY (D Dillon) shifted in to continue its run when awkwardly placed on the heels of PASSIVITY (*J Gates) which shifted out away from the crop. Thereafter, PASSIVITY (*J Gates) again, shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) Jockey L Hewitson (AMBER FOREVER) reported that his saddle slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. e) Shortly before finish, Jockey S Veale (HAMSA GROVE) briefly dropped his right side rein. f) Apprentice L Ferraris reported that MS ROSA PARKS (19.75 lengths) and Jockey L Hewitson reported that AMBER FOREVER (28.05 lengths) took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Trainer W Whitehead signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that she presented SPIFFY in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this Race. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. h) ELUSIVE CURRENT (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G H van Zyl advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PASSIVITY raced with alumites (advised 30.09.20/9h00). b) AMBER FOREVER was ridden by Jockey L Hewitson.
