RIGHTFUL KING broke the front stall gate open, which was reset, as a consequence of THE THINKER being restless in the next stall. THE THINKER was restless and slow, losing 1 length. Trainer van Vuuren was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. SURF'S UP was slow, losing 4 lengths. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to SURF'S UP, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as its proves tractable in the starting stalls. SURF'S UP may not be presented for repassing during this period. Jockey Thackeray signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse MAGIC when it was out of contention for a place. Jockey Zackey reported that LAURENT DU VAR did not stride out freely in running. ISPHAN was hanging in, in the concluding stages. ISPHAN and ALL NIGHT FLIGHT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LAURENT DU VAR - not striding out left front. Scratched: CAPTAIN'S GIRL - urticaria.
