Shortly after the finish line, Jockey K de Melo was dislodged from RYDER, incapacitated and unable to weigh in. The Stipendiary Board was satisfied that RYDER had carried the correct weight. Jockey Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with HENRY HIGGINS in running. Jockey Zackey reported that STUNNED made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Zackey, the rider of STUNNED, appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his non-use of the crop in the concluding stages. He explained to the Board that he has ridden this gelding previously and STUNNED does not require the use of the crop and was giving of his best in the finish today. This explanation was noted. The Board have adjourned to review the patrol films of this gelding's previous runs. ARABIAN WORLD failed to negotiate the first turn. TENDRE and EASTERN PEARL were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EASTERN PEARL was hanging in, in the concluding stages. Jockey de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse RYDER, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Vet: HENRY HIGGINS - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. STUNNED - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: B TWENTY ONE - coughing. HOUSTON ROCKET - respiratory disease.
