THE MONEY MAN and DISCOURSE lost 1 length. COURAGEOUS KING and NIGHT LOCK lost 2 lengths. PRICELESS GEM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Goodman was questioned regarding the improved performance of PRICELESS GEM the winner. Mr Goodman explained to the Board that this gelding had been racing in far stronger company due to the scarcity of low merit rating handicaps which had resulted in this gelding generally running under sufferance due to his low merit rating. Today the low merit rated race had been beneficial and had, together with the lay-off, accounted for the improved performance. Mr Goodman's explanation has been noted. THE MONEY MAN was hanging in, in the straight. Jockey Delpech reported STRATEGIC'S PRIDE was not striding out freely in running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. DOM SEGUIDOR was baulked for a clear run between the 300 and 200 metre marks. CAPTAIN COYOTE did not race with his tongue tied down. Vet: STRATEGIC'S PRIDE - coughing. Scratched: RACING SOCKS - transport complications. TEXICAN - lame left fore. SECOND LIEUTENANT - virus. The Course Farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
