KATIES JAY jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. EXCELLENT was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. When questioned by the Board regarding MISS D' ARAY's improved performance today, as compared to the filly's previous race on 22 July 2017 at Kenilworth, run over 1800m, when the filly finished 12.40 length behind the winner, Trainer Puller told the Stewards that this filly had been fairly consistent until her run on the 22 July, which he noted was a Feature race, and therefore a stronger field, and as such she had carried 6,5kg more than she carried today. He further stated that she had raced from a handy position and had tired in the latter stages of the race. The Board reviewed the filly's previous run, which showed that this filly had been ridden in a similar manner in today's race, had turned for home in 2nd position and despite being ridden in an acceptable manner she had faded in the latter stages, confirming Mr Puller's statements. The filly's future performances will be monitored. MISS D' ARAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: TRIPINTHEMIST - returned with a mouth injury, and was blowing.
