The start of this Race was delayed due to the 30-minute interval between races 4 and 5 and the saddle on BRITISH ROYALE having to be refitted at the start. NITRO CHARGE lost 1 length. LINEKER (AUS) lost 4 lengths. Trainer Houdalakis was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. In view of the performance from ISPHAN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Shortly after the start, ANGEL'S POWER, BRITISH ROYALE and ISPHAN were awkwardly placed between ALPINE GLACIER, which jumped out, and CAPTAIN'S GIRL, which jumped in. Jockey Murray reported that the saddle on GREASEPAINT slipped back in running at approximately the 400m. GIMMETHEMONEY was hanging in from the 400m. ANGEL'S POWER was continually baulked for a clear run between the 300m and the 50m. CAPTAIN'S GIRL and ARAMOUSE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BRITISH ROYALE raced without a tongue tie. Vet: ISPHAN - coughing. NITRO CHARGE- speedy cut left front, severe. Scratched: CATHEDRAL COUNTY - no transport.
